The desperate Dallas Cowboys renew their rivalry against the Washington Redskins in what might be a toss-aside-the-records Monday Night Football betting matchup.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Redskins, who have been much stronger at FedExField than on the road, are listed as 4-point favorites against the Matt Cassel-helmed Cowboys at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. However, the favored team is 3-7 ATS in its last 10 games in this matchup.
The Cowboys, 3-8 SU and ATS, are counting on Cassel at QB after Tony Romo re-injured his left collarbone last week. Washington, 5-6 SU and 5-6 ATS, is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five games at home. Three of those home wins were by three or fewer points. Cousins has an 11-to-2 touchdown/interception ratio at home, and takeaways have been fewer and farther between for the Cowboys with a league-low seven.
Washington is capable of setting the tone for the night by relying on the likes of RB Alfred Morris, TE Jordan Reed and WR DeSean Jackson, who has a touchdown reception of 50 yards or more each of the last three games. That said, Washington is 11-27 SU in its last 38 games after losing the previous game in a matchup.
The total for Monday night’s Cowboys vs. Redskins betting matchup is set at 42 points at the sportsbooks. The total has gone UNDER in seven of the Cowboys’ last eight games after an ATS loss. The total has gone OVER in seven of Washington’s last eight games after winning as an underdog.
